Ministry of Education: Starting from 2025, the name of continuing education for higher education will be unified as "non full-time"
The 2024 National Adult College Entrance Examination will be held from October 19th to 20th. Recently, the Ministry of Education deployed the work related to examination and enrollment. It is proposed that starting from the autumn of 2025, higher education continuing education will no longer use the names "correspondence" and "amateur", and will be unified as "non full-time". Relevant universities in various regions should plan and coordinate relevant work in advance.
The Ministry of Education requires that all regions, departments, and universities accurately grasp the positioning of adult higher education, combine with economic and social development, strengthen the analysis and prediction of the demand for adult higher education in their respective regions and industries, comprehensively consider factors such as social demand, educational conditions, and student sources, further optimize the structure of enrollment majors, and scientifically and reasonably arrange university enrollment plans according to different learning forms such as full-time, part-time, and correspondence. For majors with low training quality, insufficient social demand, and excessive training, the enrollment plan should be appropriately reduced.
The Ministry of Education has clarified that all regions and universities should implement enrollment and admission work in accordance with the requirements of "school responsibility and provincial recruitment supervision", strictly implement enrollment plans and policies, and strictly abide by disciplinary requirements such as the "Ten Prohibitions", "30 Prohibitions", and "Eight Basic Requirements" for university enrollment. The responsibilities and powers of enrollment and admission shall not be transferred in any form, and it is strictly prohibited to entrust any intermediary agency or individual to act as an agent for enrollment. Scientifically setting the minimum admission control score line, improving the quality of talent selection, and ensuring that newly admitted students meet the training requirements for receiving higher-level education.
