On the morning of July 18th, the Ministry of Education's "101 Plan" construction achievement conference in the field of artificial intelligence was held at Xi'an Jiaotong University.

Zhang Liqun, President of Xi'an Jiaotong University, said in his speech that Xi'an Jiaotong University has a profound accumulation in the field of artificial intelligence. Relying on the team of academician Zheng Nanning, it has built a national key laboratory and a platform for industry-education integration, implemented the "AI+" reform project, created a vertical education model and intelligent agent, and actively explored innovative paradigms such as "boundaryless classroom". The "101 Plan" of the Ministry of Education has gathered top universities' resources to build core courses, textbooks, teachers and practical projects, filling the gap of high-level AI textbooks and providing "fresh water at the source" for the cultivation of top talents.

At the meeting, Zheng Nanning, CAE Member, introduced the construction status of the "101 Plan" in the field of artificial intelligence and the "Research Report on the Strategy of Artificial Intelligence Talent Cultivation in Colleges and Universities and the Curriculum System" (the white paper of the "101 Plan" in the field of artificial intelligence). After nearly a year of construction, the "Research Report on the Strategy of Artificial Intelligence Talent Cultivation in Colleges and Universities and the Curriculum System", as well as the compilation and sample books of 12 core course textbooks, have been published. The manuscripts of 15 reference course textbooks and 2 comprehensive experimental course textbooks will be submitted to the publishing house before August this year.

The conference released 12 core course textbooks for the "101 Plan" in the field of artificial intelligence, including "Introduction to Artificial Intelligence", "Fundamentals of Data Science", "Computer Vision", "Generative Artificial Intelligence", etc. These 12 core course textbooks, together with 15 reference course textbooks and 2 comprehensive experimental textbooks, constitute the "101 Plan" textbook system in the field of artificial intelligence.

　The conference also released the "Research Report on the Strategy of Artificial Intelligence Professional Talent Cultivation in Colleges and Universities and the Core Curriculum System". The system covers research and analysis on the cultivation of artificial intelligence talents at home and abroad, the construction of the "101 Plan", the outline of 12 core courses, and the cultivation plan of artificial intelligence undergraduate majors in 17 universities. It will provide guidance and demonstration for the reform of education and teaching in various colleges and universities related to artificial intelligence, and also provide reference for the construction of related majors and disciplines in artificial intelligence.
